Family breakdown can be hard on everyone – but especially any children caught up in the conflict. Do you know what your kids think when you shout at them?

Today’s theme in Family Mediation Week is ‘A Safer Space’, looking not only at the safe space we offer in the mediation room, but also the safer space that home can become once the conflict is resolved.

The Family Mediation Association worked closely with the charity Voices in the Middle to produce the video below. It features a poem based on lines contributed by young people describing what it feels like to be shouted at. Please take a few moments to watch the video. It may help you see what children think when they’re caught up in separation conflict.

You can find Voices in the Middle on Twitter at @voicesinthemid if you would like to connect with them.
